We believe in love—sharing it, nurturing it, radiating it from our hearts. With Valentine's Day coming up, we thought what better way to spread the love than with a homemade gift? This year we settled on aromatherapy shower tablets. They will offer necessary moments of tranquility and peace amidst all of the craziness.
Read on to find out what you need to get started. Trust us, this is an easy DIY with seriously worthwhile results!
2 cups baking soda
1 cup citric acid
2 tbsp water
30+ drops essential oil
dried flowers (we opted for petite roses and jasmine)
silicone mold (we used this cute heart shaped mold)
Mix together baking soda and citric acid in a medium-sized bowl. Place dried flowers in silicone mold. In a separate small bowl, mix together water and essential oil. We opted for a floral blend that would relieve tension, open up the lungs, and relax the mind (15 drops lavender, 5 drops clary sage, 10 drops neroli, and 5 drops tuberose).
Slowly add water-oil mixture to baking soda and citric acid, making sure to blend well. If the mixture expands, add additional baking soda and citric acid in small portions. This will help adjust the fizzy, chemical reaction!
When ingredients are thoroughly mixed and no longer rising, tightly pack into silicone mold with the back of a spoon. Allow to dry overnight.
We decided to recycle these cute jam jars to package our tablets. The red and white suit our Valentine's Day theme, no?
