Shifting into a new year has inspired us to update our wardrobes just a bit (neutrals and comfy pants—we will always love you).  Turning on our fashion game for LA's chilliest season got us wondering how to change up the statement.  So instead of opting for bold jewelry or embellished blouses, we amped up our bottoms!

Annie picked up this dope pair of flared stripe pants at our go-to spot, Reformation.  Keeping in mind Annie is particularly long waisted, this silhouette is a total score—no uncomfortable hiking here.  They show off every curve in just the right spot while the vertical stripes work to make her longer than ever.  We love the light weight silk fabric, too.  Hello, movement!

The only bummer?  Reformation has already sold out of this style (as do most of their best sellers).  We love just about every piece they sell and have our eyes on this statement worthy pair of black trousers.  They feel in charge and ready for business, no?

Edging into a bolder, more rock and roll kinda vibe is easy-peasy when you're armed and ready in some lace up jeans.  Celene scored this pair online at Tripp NYC, a brand founded back in the 1980's with a serious selection of lacey denim.  What does Celene love most?  The balance between the jet-black structure and oh-so-feminine fit.  The denim is stretchy enough to hug your bum without losing its shape and the high waisted fit means no need for a belt!

There's no denying that this pair also makes you feel a bit like Xtina circa 2002, specifically on the cover of the Stripped album.  So thank you, lace pants, for making us a little bit harder, a little bit stronger; thanks for making us fighters.
