Dress, Widows of Culloden, autumn/winter 2006-7
If you haven't had the chance to flip through Andrew Bolton's Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty, I highly recommend finding an opportunity. I had eyed this book for quite sometime and decided several months ago to finally make the investment. I am so pleased. As a lover of art, fashion, nature and the like these photographs truly capture the magic and wonder of one man's creative genius. As I turn each page, I find my mind being blown, my heart filled with inspiration, and the urge to cry at the profound beauty of McQueen's work. While his contribution to fashion is certainly not recent news, this book gives me the chance to connect personally with his vision of beauty, as if I am discovering it for the first time all over again. He intended for his work to stir a reaction, whether it was political, emotional, physical. I'm a believer, McQueen. Your pieces make me feel, they make me see, they make me love.
