Nothing preps me for some zzz's quite like the scent of lavender. It immediately calms me down and gets me ready to doze off. I created this sleepy-time salve to bring the soothing benefits of lavender to my bedtime ritual. I just put a little bit on my temples or on my neck and let the gentle, relaxing scent rock me to sleep.
4 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon beeswax, grated
15 drops lavender essential oil
5 drops rosewood essential oil
5 drops ylang ylang essential oil
1 small mason jar
Create a double boiler using a medium saucepan filled 1.5 inches with water, and a pyrex or other heat-safe glass container. Melt coconut oil, olive oil, and beeswax in the pyrex until beeswax has totally dissolved. Remove from heat. Add in essential oils and stir until incorporated. Pour into mason jar and allow to sit for at least a few hours to cool completely.
