When I first started working in the beauty industry as a college student, I knew how to put on mascara and not much else. Somehow I convinced my boss to give me an internship, and my life has never been the same! Working in the industry, I get to try a lot of different products, so I've not only learned some solid techniques, but have also developed a very clear sense of what I do and do not like in a cosmetic.

I don't wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis--just a few products to give my face a more polished and mature look (without mascara I really look 12 years old). Lucky for me, I work with some great product developers, so three of the products I use every day are from the company I work for:Josie Maran Cosmetics. But I promise I'm not shamelessly plugging the brand that gives me a paycheck--these really are fantastic products!! The rest of my must-haves are basics from brands that always deliver quality performance: Smashbox, Bobbi Brown, and NARS.

Josie Maran Argan Creamy Concealer Crayon in Fair 1 This concealer is really soft and creamy--perfect for camouflaging under eye circles. I have dry skin so my skin loves the creaminess, but if you're oily, I recommend pairing this with a powder to set it.

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Light I'm pretty fair with yellow undertones, so it's hard to find a bronzer that looks natural and not too muddy. This one from Bobbi Brown makes my complexion look brighter and more alive! I apply it with a big fluffy brush to prevent harsh bronzer lines.

Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer I get compliments on my skin whenever I wear this illuminizer. I put it on my cheekbones, above my brows, and just a tad down the bridge of my nose. It makes my skin look glowy and healthy! In a pinch, this also makes a great dewy eye shadow.

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée in Vacay Rosé Celene profiled this product in her post, but I had to give it an encore. It's really the most natural-looking blush I've ever used. If I'm feeling artsy, I like to layer a few different shades of this blush for a custom flush.

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara  This mascara boasts a seriously voluptuous brush--one that can be a little tricky to use at first. But it volumizes like crazy and has an ultra-black color that I love.

NARS Single Eye Shadow in Cairo NARS always does it right with their eye shadow. This shade is a dusty rose champagne that flatters many skin tones and makes my blue/gray eyes look a tad more blue.
