Facing the hot, arid climate in Los Angeles is tough work. Especially on our skin! To keep this major organ hydrated and healthy, we opt for this homemade cocoa body butter. The ingredients are all natural and it is quite a breeze to whip up. Not to mention it smells like a bit like chocolate-ity summertime goodness.
1 tablespoon cocoa buter
2 tablespoons beeswax
1/4 cup extra virgin, cold pressed coconut oil
1/2 cup apricot kernel base oil
Over low heat, combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and warm until melted. Remove from heat and allow to cool for five to ten minutes. Placing the saucepan in a bowl of ice water will speed up the cooling process and help thicken the mixture. Whisk gently until the mixture is opaque but pourable. Finally, pour body butter into a glass storage container and set aside to harden overnight.
